Tri State Equipment Rentals is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Counter / Dispatcher to coordinate rental reservations, dispatch deliveries and pickups, and support daily branch operations, small tool and heavy equipment knowledge a MUST. This position works closely with customers, drivers, the yard, service department, and other branch personnel to ensure equipment is ready and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, assist customers, take reservations, and open and close rental contracts for all locations.
• Plan and coordinate next-day deliveries and pickups.
• Ensure drivers have the necessary paperwork, delivery instructions, and equipment photos.
• Maintain accurate customer profiles, credit card information, and required business credit applications.
• Coordinate with yard and service personnel to ensure equipment is prepared and ready for rent.
• Verify equipment locations, availability, and status in the rental system.
• Review contracts, complete daily logs, assist with monthly billings, and submit end-of-day paperwork.
• Monitor emails, applications, and dispatch updates throughout the day.
• Assist with training new employees and conducting employee reviews when applicable.
• Communicate effectively with all departments to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of equipment and hand tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy with paperwork and computer systems.
• Dependable, proactive, and able to work well with others.
• Previous experience in dispatching, equipment rental, or customer service preferred.
