JOB DESCRIPTION:
Incumbent is responsible for performing routine labor functions within the Water Division.
Special Note: This is an unclassified position that is expected to work Monday through Thursday, 7 hours each day and will not exceed 28 hours per week. Incumbent works outdoors and is exposed to extreme temperatures.
The ideal candidate will have general maintenance experience, light or heavy construction, operation of light or heavy equipment and tools. They would be familiar with normal construction safety procedures and practices and would have experience in working outside during inclement weather, summer heat and winter cold. Good customer service and communication skills are strongly desired.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.) and one (1) year of experience performing general maintenance duties, preferably in the water industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the job.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Driver's License of appropriate class.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Perform production rounds to determine the responsibility of leaks.
Perform Water Production rounds to include site security checks, reading Production meters and other instrumentation, and recording data.
Check motors and pumps for leaks, vibration, and any other issues.
Use of a computer and mobile electronic device to accurately enter data.
All of the above essential functions in addition to the following:
Perform service turn on and turn offs
Respond to no water complaints.
Perform other customer-related duties as needed.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
All of the above essential functions in addition to the following:
Perform site clean-up and general site maintenance.
Assist Water Production crews as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Basic office computer skills and programs.
Safety precautions.
City codes and ordinances, traffic laws and blue stake laws.
Water sampling.
Maintaining and repairing equipment.
Using hand and power tools.
Performing construction related activities.
Operating various equipment related to assignment.
Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction..
