Mohave Community College seeks a dedicated and skilled Campus Technology Specialist to join our Information Technology department. A successful candidate will have experience in installation, servicing and/or repair of computers and systems according to assigned routines and schedules.

Typical Duties

1. Configures and maintains desktop computers and peripherals; installs software and hardware as necessary; coordinates warranty service when applicable.
2. Isolate and resolve problems related to VOIP utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools.
3. Maintain Voice Over IP (VOIP).
4. Manage and trouble shoot networks.
5. Connect, route and maintain analog lines for fax, credit card readers and alarms.
6. Assists faculty, staff and students with computer related issues, including Instructional Television (Tandberg) system, email, computer networks, VOIP, and online courses, via telephone, email, via remote access, and in-person.
7. Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose software and hardware problems. Works independently to research and resolve technical issues.
8. Works with MCC Connect to research and document problem resolutions, provides backup as needed.
9. Provides users with software assistance/training.
10. Occasionally travels to locations to provide assistance in urgent situations
11. Captures and documents the details of an issue and the troubleshooting steps taken in order to escalate the issue or document the identification and resolution; uses a the help desk system to track and route problems and requests and document solutions.
12. Identifies and escalates situations requiring urgent attention.
13. Maintains inventory and security of computing equipment and peripherals
14. Stays current with technological trends related to MCC environment.
15. Develops and maintains a professional level of proficiency with Information Technology.
16. Assists other department teams as needed (i.e. network, administrative computing).
17. Adheres to college, federal and state administrative procedures, guidelines, initiatives and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations.
18. Performs other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) from two-year college; or any combination of education, training and/or experience which demonstrates potential for success in performing the duties of the position.
  • CompTIA network + certification, or ability to obtain same within first 90 days of employment. Experience in the desktop support field, including software, hardware and peripheral maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • Experience with VOIP and analog/POTS telephony preferred.
